Almost Midnight

This necklace, Almost Midnight, is inspired by the Cinderella fairy tale. Cinderella has always been my favorite fairy tale of all. Besides that, I also love Sleeping Beauty and Alice in Wonderland. I remember seeing Scarlett Johansson in Vanity Fair posing as Cinderella. It was a really good picture!

I will try to make more necklaces with Fairy tale themes. It's really fun creating something with a story behind it.

Spaghetti with mushroom

I had this for today's lunch. It's a quick and easy dish. I just tossed in king mushroom, tomato, garlic, anchovy, chili together and add bonito flakes for a touch up.

Yum!

Soybean side dish (kongjang, kongjorim)

I made Korean food for dinner the other day! This side dish is called kongjorim or kongjang. It is one of my favorite Korean side dishes. The photo is kinda yellow, sorry about that. I substituted soybean with white pea bean. It turned out perfectly fine. I got the recipe from Maangchi.com. She is a sweet lady. I once requested her a Soon Du Bu (Spicy Tofu Soup)! I Korean food!

Since I found Maangchi.com I rarely go out to Korean restaurant these days. Check out the website, if you Korean food too!

An ordinary day in the snow

It is just an ordinary day here in Toronto. It snows again these days and I kinda like it. Actually, my pet pup also loves playing in the snow.

Before I take my pup for a walk, I have to bundle her up which she hates so much. I put her on a red sweater, shoes (made from balloons) and her harness. Whenever she sees the red sweater, she would hide under the coffee table or run away. I think it's adorable.

She loves jumping up and down in the snow. We also play hide and seek! Mostly she loves playing with one of my mittens. She wouldn't let it go even when we got back from the walk!!! This is one of my favorite times of the day!

My Cup of Tea

The weather outside is very gloomy. Although, it's only 4 PM, I feel like it is 6 PM already. The sky will turn dark soon. I miss Summer already T_T.

I have recently replaced my old cup with a new one. The rim of my old cup was broken, so it's a good excuse for me to get a new one. This cup is handmade in Japan. I really like it. I also like the grainy texture of the cup. I'm having Jasmin tea this afternoon. It smells heavenly!

Meiji Yan Yan?

I went to china town the other day and this snack was on sale, 2 for $1.99. So, I bought these in chocolate and strawberry flavors. I just love snacking! It's my bad habit! This is what I used to have when I was young. I remembered that the name used to be Yam Yam or Yum Yum, but I'm not quite sure.

This snack is like a snack called Pocky. I think we all know what Pocky is, but for this Yan Yan snack, you get to dip your chocolate!! Which is more fun for me! Each bread stick has a vocabulary on it. Some of them is written in "Engrish".

I think it's kinda cute and funny! Night Night, yawn yawn.

Vintage Filigree Owl Locket

The picture above is my new creation. I'm very happy to find a vintage owl charm and a beautiful filigree locket. This necklace is a vintage inspired piece. I have always loved owls. I think they are lovely. I once saw a baby owl on TV. They are so tiny and cute!! Please check my etsy shop for more info.

I have many new ideas and inspirations for my jewelry. Although I'm still new to etsy and jewelry scene, but I strongly believe that I will do just fine. Stay tune for more updates about my shop.

On December 31st, I went to work at the restaurant as usual, but then an incident happened! While the customers were enjoying their meals with families and friends, the stove was caught on fire!!! The kitchen staff panicked! No one seemed to know what to do! One very panicked chef tried to put the fire out with water. Some even put damp towels to cover the fire, but still the fire wouldn't die. The towels quickly burnt into dark, smelly solid chunks. Luckily, one of my co-workers could put the fire out with a fire extinguisher. It took about 15 minutes to put the fire out. It was his first time using it though, but I think he did a really good job!! He saved the restaurant!! It was the first time I saw that much fire and smoke. I was told by my boss to remain calm so that the customers wouldn't notice anything. The restaurant had to close early that night for some safety and I was very happy to go home safely!!!!!
